Review on πŸ“ Bosch Professional Square Layout GTL3: Precision Measuring and Layout Tool for Efficient Work by Duane Kerr

Huge time saver, good for line laser

I finally broke down and got to work on the tiles in my house. With nearly 2,500 square feet of tile to lay, this looked like an easy way to align my lines. It pretty much puts in the batteries and presses the button. The first use was to place tiles along a hallway that was about 1/4 the total gap with the full width of the tiles across the width and that made things easier. I used string and chalk lines, the string gets in the way and doesn't stay taut or straight when you start hitting it and the chalk lines hide. I shot sharp laser lines on the ground all the way over 30ft which made tiling easier, especially since I'm using a quick setting thin set for the first pass (an island I have to traverse before tomorrow). If I used another method, I would have been stuck mixing small batches and setting 2-3 tiles at a time, I could work full buckets with this. The only issue I had is very minor, the timeout is a bit short, I think it's about 45 minutes and it gets cut off. I like it because it saves batteries, but if you don't reset it after each fine dial bucket, it shuts down. . I almost forgot I had it when I created 3 rooms and it made life a lot easier. This greatly simplifies any straight line / 45/90 degree layout work, be it tiling, frames or whatever you are doing.
