Review on Extra Yarn Mac Barnett Audiobook by Kristen Jain

I really wanted to like this book because it has so much potential. But 2 things really bothered me. The main characters' teacher told her that her bright sweater distracted her classmates and they couldn't concentrate. This directly teaches the girls that it is their fault that their clothing distracts others from their studies and that it is their fault. I firmly believe in the lack of a dress code. Another incident that disturbed me was when the Archduke got angry and cursed a little girl and her family for being unhappy. Fur. Not the language or message I want to teach my 5 year old.
