Review on πŸ” Enhanced LG ADQ56656401 Lint Filter Assembly for Optimal Performance by Devin Maselli

Please read if you are replacing a filter that has become deformed and caught on clothing!

Second change of lint filter in LG dryer. I assumed that the original filter had deformed over time and was beginning to grab strappy clothes and destroy them when the dryer was running. I went to LG's website to purchase a replacement but found that many other customers were having the same issue and that LG had no express plans to fix what turned out to be the defective part. I ended up buying a non-LG replacement part for a fraction of the cost, and it served me well for months before warping too much during drying cycles and snagging on strappy clothing. I felt it would be a waste of money to keep buying a part that would warp and I didn't like the idea of more clothes being ruined, but buying a new dryer didn't seem like an option either. I checked Revain to see if I could find a cheap replacement part and I found something even better: the reason this keeps happening and its solution! While looking through the reviews of this lint filter, I read a post posted by AverageJoe on 12/20/16. In his review he described the same problem as me and many others, that after a while the filter no longer fits properly on the trap. He found that the bottom of the siphon would collect a buildup of lint that the filter would not catch, making it impossible to properly seat the filter. Shining a flashlight into the lint filter, I saw I had the same problem! Inch fluff packed tightly into the ground. With the help of a wire hanger, my husband was able to remove most of the lint. Since my other filters were really warped from the time spent in the dryer's hot air, I ordered this part and hoped for the best. Of course, a new filter has arrived, and without a bunch of fluff filling the bottom of the trap, this new filter fits perfectly. The mesh of this filter is very fine and captures much more than the previous two filters. I also check the bottom of the lint trap every few days to catch any build up before it becomes a problem again.
