Review on StarTech.Com USB 3.0 Or USB-C Dual HDMI Adapter For Windows & MacOS, 2X HDMI Displays (4K30Hz/1080P), Integrated USB-A To C Dongle, 4In Cable (107B-USB-HDMI) by Juan Mcallen

Blood simple; plug and play

Could not get the first unit I received to work at all. Chatted with Startech support; support tech pronounced it DOA. I initiated an exchange through Best Buy, got a new unit the following day. that one worked perfectly.Nothing but good to say here. The product just works: you plug it in and you have two more monitors. I was previously running two monitors off the existing single motherboard video chip -- one off the HDMI port and one off the VGA port -- and now I have four monitors, just like that.As noted above, support is excellent (and English-language-based). The only necessary setup instructions are1. download current driver2. run driver installer3. reboot4. plug in deviceAs simple as that is, the Startech website contains detailed setup instructions, setup videos, post-setup configuration info, and FAQs to the point where the most technochallenged individual will have no problem figuring out how to set this up, as well as how to go into the Windows Display Settings applet and arrange/configure the new monitors. The only downside I see is that the fact that the first unit I received was DOA calls into question the reliability of all units overall. But for what I paid, I'm betting that whatever life I get out of this thing will be more than worth the cost.

Pros
  • CONVENIENT & PORTABLE: The USB to Dual HDMI Adapter has a compact form factor and fits perfectly in a laptop bag | Ideal for going between office, working from home or, during business travel | Works with displays from Dell/Asus/Acer/LG/Samsung/Sharp/Sony
Cons
  • Only compatible with USB 3.0 connections
