Bought to improve safety when riding my new bike (first time in 20 years). It fits well, slightly smaller than other 4x jackets I've had, but it still fits and given what it's designed for, a snug fit is probably better. Because it's adjustable at the arms and waist, and even fits snugly in the middle, I still have full freedom of movement so it doesn't constrict. The ventilated/mesh construction ensures a comfortable ride in warm weather and does not get too hot. Luckily I wasn't able to test the quality of the construction and reinforced panels in the event of a fall, but the jacket feels well tailored and the elbow, shoulder and back protectors feel pretty solid, so I'm reasonably confident they'll work that way , as they should, if something happens.
