This product needs a lot of improvement...

Well I have a lot to say about this product. Firstly, I received the package in good condition. When I took the product out of the box my first impression was that it looked very nice and elegant and was pretty easy to set up. Boy was I wrong. First, I plugged the feeder into an outlet to turn it on. The car also has the option of using 4 DD batteries if you prefer, but we prefer the plug-in option. I played around with the voice recording for a few minutes. This is a really cool feature. You can record a "greeting" or a "message" for your kitty to hear your voice! It was very easy to do! However, there is a problem with the volume. That's very low. And even a cat or kitten can only hear your recording while eating. The cat will not hear him even a few meters away. After playing around with the voice recording option, it's time to download the app and hook up this feeding machine! That was the biggest problem. The app download was flawless and the actual download was quick and easy (I'm using IOS/iPhone 13 Pro Max). Now, once the application is downloaded, there are instructions in the leaflet that you need to click on, "Small Appliances" will be moved to the left side. It was simple and clear. The instructions will then tell you to press "IPC Pet Feeder". So there is no option for that exact wording, IPC Pet Feeder. There were MANY different options in this "Small Appliances" category, but nothing with the exact label "IPC Pet Feeder". So the next best thing was just "feeder station" and then "feeder station with camera". Yes, I know this feeder has a camera, but since the instructions just said "IPC Pet Feeder" without the word "Camera" next to it, I clicked on that... "Pet Feeder". Well I've been trying to sync my phone and feeder for a good 15 minutes with no success. I decided to go back and click on the Camera Feeder option. Then I got a screen asking me to "reset" the device. So it was a bit confusing because there is no "reset" button on the feeder. However, there is a "Settings" button. However, pressing or holding the "Setup" button for 5 seconds will put the pet feeder into Bluetooth pairing mode. This does not reset the feeder. There is NO on/off button or switch on this feeder...none that I can find. I think there should be. I went ahead and unplugged it to "reset" it, because how else, right? When I did this and then went to the Camera Pet Feeding option, the steps looked different than the last time I tried it on my phone). It showed an image of a camera lens with a line emanating from it. I took it a step further and placed the happy iPhone's screen in front of the camera lens on the feeder. Finally! Success! It's connected to my phone! Currently…. Customize everything in the app! So I tested the feeder first to see how much food is dispensed when I click feed on the app. This gives you the ability to prepare 1-20 servings. I made one this time. Worked fine! Portions are very small but that suits me. I started playing with different numbers of servings. There were several delays. I hit 4 hits and nothing happened for a good 60-90 seconds… So I hit 4 hits again and suddenly the device is 8.4 out of 90 seconds and 4 I just did. There is reason to believe that my application is running slowly and with some lag due to my wireless network. It states that this feeder must be within 10 meters of the router. My feeder isn't that far from my router. I have no way of moving our router or placing a feeder right next to my router which is next to a lot of computers and electronics. Application usually stays at around 85%. The signal he speaks. When I used the "Talk" feature, it was very laggy. The quality of the camera in this feeder is pretty good, IC will say! Beautiful, bright and clear in daylight or under lighting. However, the camera is terrible at night! You see nothing! I've also turned on "Motion Detection" alerts/notifications and haven't received any notifications yet. The feeder also has a scheduling option which I set up to dispense a specific number of servings at specific times of the day. The 2 we've made have worked so far. I really like this feature! Our cat eats too much and really needs to stick to the schedule! I hope this feature continues to work as expected. Please note regarding your WI-FI... this feeder will only work with a 2.4G signal. This will NOT work with 5G. This is good for me but may not be suitable for others. So... in closing... I think this is a great idea for feeding your cat. But the device itself needs a lot of improvements and/or updates. I think the instructions should be better and clearer for those who are not tech savvy. Also, this feeder is grossly overpriced for what it is and isn't. I would not recommend this item as it is now.
