This coconut was a pain in the ass, but it was worth it! It smelled to the point that the gecko wasn't using it, so I left it in water mixed with baking soda for a day and that took care of the smell too. Unfortunately, after soaking, the coconut shell became very rough, so I scratched the coconut and, believe it or not, SHAVED. I have a kid, Kresty, so I didn't want to risk it if he got splinters. You should definitely not do that! I just played it safe and now the coconut is super smooth all I used was a $1 razor you threw in afterwards haha it's very good value and he loves stairs.
