I bought the filter system because it needed a 1" pipe and a quick-change feature for high flow rates. The system does not have to be depressurized as this is done automatically. Changes can be made in a minute with practice, and the built-in bypass lets you do this while someone is in the shower. In the city I only change once a year if there are 2 people in the house, so extended families or those living in different cities will change more often. I just want it to be clear and not white so I can check for debris rather than waiting for the water flow to decrease.
