I bought this for a cruise and I can say it definitely helped with sun protection in the Caribbean. <3 It's not an automatic pistol, which made it a bit unwieldy, but its shape is so damn beautiful I couldn't resist. It's very big. I'm a large size and when positioned correctly it was able to protect me from the bright tropical sun and gave me enough room to "get out of my personal bubble" despite the attention it brought me. . I'm not particularly feminine but it made me feel girly and pretty, PLUS had to endure some pretty harsh treatments as I'm not very sensitive myself. It was a bit long just carrying it around - I'm 5ft 1in and it was too long to curl up to use as a walking stick, but normal height people will have no problem. Overall it has withstood the tropical winds and if I need a different color or style I would have no hesitation in buying from the same seller!
