The only thermometer I could find that lets you disable annoying alarms

Even with a thermometer designed to measure food temperature (not oven temperature), a loud and continuous alarm can be annoying, and if you're sitting/standing near the oven/grill, you can just check it from time to time as if you were using an instant read thermometer so you don't need an alarm. When reading the temperature of the food, it will increase - and if the heat source is not switched off, it will not decrease, so the signal will only sound once when the food has reached the set temperature. With this ambient temperature, the stove oscillates: the heat source remains on until the stove has reached the set temperature, but also after it is switched off. The heat will continue to rise until the heat source is completely shut off (especially bad with electrical elements) - and a beep will sound. Then, after turning off the heat source, the temperature will decrease until it exceeds the set value, after which the alarm will finally turn off and the heat source will turn on again, and then the temperature will increase until it exceeds the set value. and the alarm will sound again. Repeat until the meal is ready. AAARRGHGH! NONE of the other thermometers I've looked at WAS THE WAY TO DISABLE THE ALARMS COMPLETELY. This one: Look to the far right between the sensor connector and the power button and you'll see another switch labeled "TEMP ALERT" with ON and OFF settings! Maybe that's not a problem for you: it is for me, and I've given up dial and tube thermometers because they're hard to read when the glass goes dark (dial) or the scale burns out (tube). I've been using a digital thermometer on my grill for years and it's reliable and the only parts exposed to the heat are the probe (metal) and the cord (metal braid or like on this thermometer). - silicone). The electronics stay outside, protected from heat. Haven't used it yet but based on my experience with the digital thermometer I already own it should be accurate. I can already say that it's easy to use - even easier than what I already have.

Pros
  • Absolutely brilliant!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
