I used to skate when I was younger and decided to do it again for fun so I bought these skates. For figure skating, it is recommended to go full size as the shoe needs to fit snugly on the foot. I'm a women's size 7 1/2 and usually wear a women's size 8 1/2. I used the size chart to see if they would fit. It's also good to know that skates don't come pre-sharpened, so you'll need to sharpen the blades before using them. They are very stiff when you first get them and will take some getting used to until you break them a bit. The stiffness provides good ankle support, which is very important in figure skating. I think they are perfect for beginners and intermediates.
