I needed classic black socks to pair with my young son's more formal attire (for occasions like violin concerts which he is talking about). Gold Toe is a great brand that has been around for decades and knows how to make black cotton socks at a reasonable price. These socks look great and fit my son very well. The only thing I might want to change is that the socks come closer to the calves. But that's a bit of a quibble. Normally socks are all about durability.
