This is a large modern style ceiling fan capable of moving large volumes of air. It comes with two relatively short bottom bars, including a 2-inch model for short ceilings. Hanging this fan from the top of a cathedral ceiling or sloping canopy ceiling will require the purchase of additional hardware, including a longer pole and (depending on the angle of the ceiling) a separate mounting kit. The instructions are clear and the installation steps can easily be completed in under half an hour if you have a properly mounted wall box on the ceiling. The supplied LED lamp has a temperature of 3000K, quite warm. The appearance of the whole fan is sleek modern. I like how the blades form a circle around the motor hub. The blades are made of plastic. If you've ever had a fan with MDF blades that started to sag after a few years, you'll appreciate it. The fan can be installed with either one or two switches. A two-switch system allows for separate lighting and fan control. In a single switch system, a remote control is required to control fans and lights independently. With both systems, the remote control not only controls the on/off of the fan and light, but also the fan speed and brightness of the light. We installed this fan in a country house that we rent out. That's a good fan. The remote control is cheap compared to the rest of the system, and the wall-mounted remote control hanger is cheap. I would have preferred a remote like the one that comes with the Lutron Wi-Fi switches - a wall-mounted Pico remote that fits into what appears to be a standard switch outlet. I'm still waiting for the guest to rip the remote control out of its velcro mount and then lose it. And while Lutron and other manufacturers make smart ceiling fan switches, none of them will work with your fan if you have a Hunter fan with a built-in remote. The best solution I can think of to disable the remote in this situation is to turn on the fan and light so that when you turn on the wall switch, both the fan and light turn on, and then a smart lightbulb is inserted into the fan , so you can control the bulb separately (CbyGE, Hue, Sengled, etc.). Or of course if you do you lose the ability to control fan speed so it's still a gossip. Now the big question is: why on earth would Hunter leave Wi-Fi control out of this fan? There are cheaper ("SimpleConnect") Hunter fans that have Wi-Fi control. While Hunter's SimpleConnect 2.0 app is pretty bad, it's still better than sticking a cheap remote control in a trash can on the wall. Why didn't Hunter connect this fan to WiFi? I do not understand. That's a good fan. Too bad it is limited in the area of management.
