Great "Entry Level " DV+ Camera!

If you're looking to get into digital video (or, for that matter, digital photography) and have budget concerns, then this is the camera for you. Or if you (sometimes) want to use a small/lightweight DV/still camera instead of your big camera, then this is the perfect choice. The "native" resolution of the photograph is 2 megapixels (also 3.1 megapixels, interpolated) and produces quite beautiful and satisfactory images taken in natural (outdoor) light (no flash). Video quality (10 fps) is good (all things considered), but it's unfair to compare this camera's video quality to the excellent results from cameras hundreds of dollars more. You can use this camera in places and situations where you wouldn't dare jeopardize your high quality camera. Recorded audio (mono) is fine (adequate) when played through your computer's sound system (single mic - no external mic input jacks). ).The built-in memory is only enough for 3-4 minutes of video, so a 256MB (or larger) Compact Flash card (camera slot) is highly recommended. The camera might appear flimsy, but that's because of its small size and because it records to RAM rather than digital tape, so there's no heavy mechanical equipment inside the camera. Photos are best taken at a distance of 5 to 7 feet from the subject. Distances over 7 feet are not as clear cut. Rechargeable batteries (size AA) are recommended and equipped with 256MB Compact Flash memory you can have loads of fun with this amazing device. Uploading images is easy with the included proprietary USB cable, or use a compact flash card reader if you have one and an optional CF card. This camera, like any other camera, has its limitations. However, it is a very valuable and inexpensive way to learn about digital video/photography. The included software package (check online for software updates and patches) gives you everything you need to get started right away. In my opinion the best in its class (under $250).
