I enjoy learning to play with this toy. It takes some practice and perseverance, which is why I say little kids can get frustrated. Battery life isn't great, but what do you expect from a toy that implicitly relies on its weight and fans. Loads super fast. You have to work with him. It's not easy, but once you get the hang of it, it will be a lot of fun. It works like a hovercraft. Tilt (for boomerang function) and flat hand (for hover) are key to learning to play. If he bends down at all, if he tries to levitate over his arm, it's an escape.... Much luck. Ps. My specific model didn't come with remote control or magic wand.
