I have a very expensive artificial Christmas tree. The weight of that treetop made the treetop crooked. It doesn't really take much to attach to the top of the tree, but try as hard as I could, it ripped a chunk off my tree, which disappointed me. I bought another device to try and keep the top of the tree upright on the tree and it only made things worse. Also, the cord was too short to reach the outlet and my tree is only 7.5 feet tall. I ended up not using the treetop at all this year and returned it. Oh, and the back of the star isn't the same as in the photo. Another disappointment
