Firstly, yes they have a chemical smell when you receive them. Wash them before use and let the case air out for a few days before putting the brushes back in. Everything will be fine. However, the quality of these brushes is really good. For the price, I'm really amazed at how good it is! I work as a makeup artist and have literally dozens of brushes. I just needed a complete set in a suitcase for personal travel use. This time I treated myself instead of buying for my set. These brushes are as good as any other brand I use and I use them at any price point. buy you!
