From the reviews I expected this to be the best pencil sharpener, especially for an artist! But when I just use regular pencils I found that they weren't easy to use because for some reason some force is required to insert the pencil and start the sharpener. This is actually quite difficult and I found I had to use two hands to secure the sharpener and apply enough pressure to the pencil. Pretty inconvenient when you're drawing something and trying to sharpen it on the go. Not the best tool for artists who want their pens to be sharp all the time. I was also surprised at how fuzzy my pens were, even at the highest settings. Sure, it was sharp by normal standards, but reviews and descriptions of this product gave the impression that it would be particularly sharp, and I find it to be on the high end of sharpness at best, but rarely the highest. I would buy a cheap pencil sharpener if I wanted a basic one.
