Despite claims that our city water is world famous for its purity, these filters are successful at sorting out significant visible contaminants, and I can only imagine they capture many invisible contaminants as well. These are factory replacements and do not restrict water flow as much as some of the cheaper aftermarket filters that may not filter as well. They don't significantly change the taste, but they do remove the taste we associate with fluoride and chlorine, which is sometimes noticeable without a filter. The factory design can make replacements a little cumbersome, but that's due to the system design, not these filters specifically. Be sure to install in the correct order (blue vs white) and orientation to ensure they work properly as they can easily be installed incorrectly. In the same way, be careful what you remove and replace. I was very happy with the price and delivery from Revain.
