I probably bought this for the same reason you want to buy it now, which is I have a kitchen blender and want to save space for the appliance. Spring? I wouldn't throw away your electric food processor just yet. It works, but not as well as a standalone food processor. First, you have to push each food you want to process through a very small food tray. The food is then hit with a spinning disk and chunks, dice, or whatever disk you use. It's not such a good experience. You end up having to persuade the thing to process the food, rather than liking the tabletop, they just chomp it up with gusto. I personally regret getting rid of my desktop shredder and am considering simply selling it (at a loss) and buying back my desktop processor. They make it look so easy in commercials, but it doesn't work the way it's shown.
