Maybe not quite what was intended, but useful nonetheless.
I put this under the serger - it didn't deaden the noises I could see (hear). I can hardly keep my car in place, even at high speeds. I used another piece of rug (what you use to hold rugs in place). The mat itself stays on the wood surface, but my car won't stand still on the mat. So the reason is the extra rubber mat under the car. Once I put all those pieces underneath, the car stayed in place. albeit not quieter.
