Great bands for the price!

Ratchet and hook are all metal. I rode them, strapping a kayak to the roof of my car, at speeds of up to 80mph all weekend with no problem. The only issue I had was that the straps are thinner than more expensive straps and can twist when going through the ratchet. Just make sure it doesn't pucker and you're golden.
