I have bought several helmet locks in the past and basically they all work the same. Don't pay a lot of money (to big motorcycle companies) and pay 10 times more! They all do the same thing: deter thieves! When I sell a bike I leave the helmet lock on the bike for the next owner! I can afford it because they are cheap! In addition, they fit the handlebars or other parts of the bike frame, so storing a helmet or jacket in different places becomes optional! Just make sure the key ring is strong enough to hold the helmet lock (if you add one to your bike's key ring) as sometimes they can slip off!
