A few months ago I took the plunge and bought this wall extension. Over time I found this very useful. The pyramid shape and the central screw are perfect. This geometry seems to do justice to the different sizes and shapes of the 3 plugs. I especially appreciate the center screw for mounting to the wall where the original bezel was. Yes, you must remove the panel. I have a similar device from Phillips, same geometry. The difference is that the Phillips model is not attached to the socket. With this design, when the cable is disconnected, the entire extension can come loose or come off completely. With the Cable Matters model, this problem is solved immediately. I just ordered 2 more.
