These cameras definitely do the job. They look like the real thing and it only takes a few seconds to install. However, I left the batteries. Red light draws too much attention to the camera. I wanted something more subtle. I have a lot of these (real) cameras at work and they don't have a backlight when active. Also, the swivel arm doesn't give you full mobility to place the camera the way you want it. Sure, it's 360 degrees, but your camera can be mounted sideways or upside down. I had to adjust mine to point in the desired direction. My first guest asked me if he was sideways in the frame.
