it says on the box that for the average wind I totally agree. As others have pointed out the kite is light and needs enough wind to hold its shape. It's not about hitting the kite, it's just physics, but be aware of that limitation. He also says it's for kids 5+ and they mention it's great for kids. Once off the ground you can certainly pass the rope to a small child, but the kite is more difficult than the basic diamond or wedge kites I played with as a kid. 9 threads are attached to the kite, which are pulled together in a knot. Their purpose in life is to get confused and they will at every opportunity. Once they start to get tangled the kite will lose its shape and start turning left or right and frequently falling off. I had to cut the knot and start over as I had no idea how to untangle the mess it was causing. Someone mentioned using a swivel to reduce tangles, haven't tried it yet but will. I wouldn't give this to anyone under the age of 13 if I didn't know they had a patient adult helping them. That's why I gave it 4 stars, it's not very good as they say "child dragon". It looks great in the air. Due to its size, it is also easy to see from a great height. The movement of the tentacles and body gives the impression that it is alive.
