Let me say up front that I am very picky about shoes. I am a meter reader. We walk many kilometers every day, both on paved and unpaved paths. Keeping feet dry and comfortable are two of the biggest challenges. I have used several Keen "waterproof" mid tops with varying degrees of success and wanted to try a different brand. Comfort - 4/5. The insoles do not enclose the foot with shells, it is felt, but they are quite comfortable. Bow support is good too. The supportive surface around the foot provides excellent stability. Clutch - 5/5. Very persistent. Much better than what I'm used to from Keen. Water resistance - 2/5. The lining on them flows like a sieve. Buy waterproofing spray and bring extra socks. However, they dry quickly. Construction - 5/5. Seems solid. Unlike the Keen, the outsole isn't made up of multiple layers waiting to peel off. I love shoelaces. They are not flimsy and not too long. Also tend to stay connected better than I'm used to.
