I wish these tools were better known! Over the past three years, I've gradually abandoned the grill tongs in favor of these tailed fins. These things are easy! Turn clockwise to hook the meat, turn counterclockwise to remove the hook. The durability is amazing and I often toss food on the grill and leave the tip of the pig tail over the flame to sanitize the tool. . So you don't have to take and wash it during the cooking process. This is great for cooking chicken breasts, drumsticks and thighs. The same goes for steak, pork tenderloin, and anything that holds together well enough to hold a pressure point. Of course, this doesn't work for flipping hamburgers, and hot dog/sausage casings will pierce. but I've used this for kids before! The popularity of this design even caught the attention of Weber, who imitated this instrument. Instead of a curly (pig)tail, right angles are used to form a loop. I find Weber's design clumsy and a cheap fake. If you love BBQ and want to impress your friends with a gift/tool they don't have, you've come to the right place! Cleaning is one of the best things about this tool since it's a single metal rod bent into a hook. You will not be disappointed!
