I had been looking for something to close off a space that did not have a header area above the opening and this fit the bill. It is nice to look at and did not cut into the opening's clearance very much at all. This item is sleek and beautiful to look at. We are very happy and would definitely purchase it again. Tip: Our ceiling studs did not align with the mount so our contractor added a board to ceiling and then attached the hardware to the board. I would not suggest using toggle bolts/anchors into the drywall as someone suggested in their comments.
