The case is of course made of plastic, but it doesn't look very cheap. I would definitely suggest a glass screen protector if you dock it frequently as the case adds extra thickness to the switch. I would not recommend this product if you enjoy using your Nintendo Switch buttons for fun. . You have to remove the joycon cover to use the grip at all. Which is not an easy task.
