I understand that it is strange for a husband to check his wife's razor. My wife only uses Venus Extra Smooth Blade cartridges and is amazed at how smoothly they shave her legs. When I lost my Mach3 razor on vacation, I found out that the Zhenya Venus razor is also suitable for Mach3 cartridges for men! The Venus razor's great ergonomic shape feels better in the hand than any custom Mach3 razor I've ever used (like the Gillette Mach3 cartridge hard chrome men's razor)! The only downside to using a standard Venus women's plastic razor as a Mach3 men's razor is that it's very light (similar to a plastic disposable razor) and a heavier razor is better for shaving a man's thick beard. When my wife saw this $8 deal on the heavier Venus Platinum full metal razor, she immediately ordered it because I can keep the Venus Platinum full metal razor for myself as a Mach3 razor and my wife gets two Venus Extra Smooth cartridges as spares . for their standard Venus plastic razor. The Venus Platinum razor features a full metal handle with a matte finish and weighs 54g, the minimum weight required to be used as a Mach3 men's razor. Most custom men's razors are at least 10% heavier (about 60g), but in this case their slightly lighter weight combined with ergonomic features is quite acceptable. Ergonomically curved handle details and a flat pommel are ideal for palm grip and provide finger rests for precise razor control for both DOWN and UP beard shaving. The textured surfaces of the rubber components on the metal handle provide a comfortable finger grip for use with wet hands. The razor head holds the Mach3 cartridge securely and the offset head tilts the cartridge very well to avoid cuts while shaving. The extra width of the razor head is a superficial blemish and the only indication that the Venus Platinum should not be used as a Mach3 cartridge razor (behold the price! I wish I could keep it!) and the Venus Extra Smooth cartridges are the best that exist to shave your legs.
