After finding out the cartridge itself came in a hard plastic square clamshell. I had to ask a friend to figure out how to open it. That's wonderful. I've had it since August and have been typing a lot. I compare very well to the HP cartridges I bought for $40, this one is less than $20 and has a lot more ink. The only thing is that my HP printer shows an error message because I'm not using an HP cartridge. It doesn't bother me at all. This is the best cartridge for the money.
