The first impression is not everything.
Let me first say that I drink tea as my morning drink, so I used this teapot about once in the morning. The first two weeks worked well. Sometime in the 3rd week it stopped whistling, and sometime in the 4th week the paint started to chip/chip/melt (I ordered a black model). So, after a month of use, although it's still boiling water, it no longer notifies me when the water is boiling (the whistle doesn't work) and it doesn't look pretty sitting on my stove anymore (because the black finish is melting off ).
