Review on 🎧 AfterShokz Air AS650CR Open Ear Bone Conduction Headphones - Canyon Red: The Ultimate Wireless Experience by Chef Deane

Nice cycling headphones

I was looking for good headphones to wear when cycling. They had to fit comfortably on my rather large head, along with goggles and a helmet. They also didn't have to block my hearing from the outside world. My Aftershokz fully meet all requirements. Compared to other cheap Bluetooth headphones I've tried, including a cheap bone conduction one that broke after 6 months, these are much more comfortable. The volume buttons are easy to distinguish by touch and can be used without hesitation. In addition, they are incredibly light. The elephant in the room is sound quality. I would say that my Airshokz sound basically as good as a pair of cheap headphones that I would otherwise use. That's a hell of a lot of praise for a $150 pair of headphones, but it's largely a direct result of the ability to hear the world around you. I mostly listen to audiobooks and podcasts, they sound great, the music is a little less precise and it's a lot easier for the outside world to drown out the sound from the headphones. On my bike, this is a trade-off that's pretty easy to accept. To be honest, the sound quality is good enough that I've worn them to do housework because they're so much more comfortable and convenient than my big in-ear headphones with a long cable that attaches to everything. For my specific use, they're totally worth the money, but I probably wouldn't shell out that much if the ability to hear the world and/or weight weren't very high on your priority list.

  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
