I bought this to replace another lighting kit. The original lighting kit used halogen bulbs and the replacement LED bulbs did not fit properly. It has standard screw in bulbs so I can use LED bulbs. It comes with spiral shaped compact fluorescent bulbs that look cool in the fixture. Reliable construction and works well. The instructions are not entirely correct. I had the same ceiling fan in another room with the lighting kit already installed so I could look at it to see how it was put together. I ended up having to remove two screws from a panel I originally thought I wouldn't need to remove, get the ceiling fan wires out of the hole in the panel, thread the light kit wires through the hole, and put the light kit on the panels, use the wire nuts to connect the white wires together and the black wires to the blue, push the wires into the room, reattach the panel (with the lighting kit attached) to the ceiling fan with two screws again. Assembly would have been easier if I didn't have to stand on a bed with very soft pillows (which keep drowning in them) while a cat tries to catch the "mouse" that was my big toe.
