Poor thread size tolerance.
These fittings have been machined. The 1/4 NPT side was included, but the 1/8" NPT ended up in the mating fitting without even tightening. Almost like a straight thread, but worse. I don't recommend them at all. I'm also not 100% sure it's stainless steel. Good price for a bad part.
