I switched from paper towels to these for my older cat who doesn't want to share a crate with another cat. Before these pads, she had accidents elsewhere in the bathroom. Now she only goes on the blocks. They are large enough to be partially placed under the box and fanned out from the front. They're not great for covering up odors, but they absorb urine quickly and are good for two purposes. I've had no issues with leaking, twisting, scratching (they're razor sharp) pads, or missing pads. They're also great for catching stray junk, which annoys me. They are good for protecting floors and baseboards. Overall I would give them a 4.5 out of 5 due to the occasional smell. I definitely recommend them and look forward to trying the larger pack.
