Great dry bag for kayaking and other water activities

I took this dry bag to take my phone, camera and a few other things when kayaking. This is the perfect size. Actually it's a bit spacious so I can throw in things like a towel and a snack as well. The pockets have a durable feel and they work by putting your stuff in, dropping the top a few times, then using the clips to close them. It is not permanently waterproof when fully submerged in water, nor is it designed to be. It keeps things dry in the rain and kayak splashes, and if it falls in the water you have a few minutes to pick it up again. Tip: Don't push all the air out when closing. I squeeze out some air before rolling down but leave a lot in the bag because it floats much better with some air. It floats when you let all the air out, but seems to pump better when there's some air inside. Being paranoid, I also make a "double bag" for my electronics. This means I put my phone and camera in plastic ziplock bags before putting them in the dry bag for extra insurance. Keeping a towel in a bag is also very helpful when taking things in and out of a dry bag as you can dry moisture on your hands or bag. I also really like the adjustable strap as I can wear it over my shoulder and it's very easy to wear across my body. The strap also makes it easy to attach the bag to your kayak so it doesn't fall out in bad weather or waves. The dry bag is well worth the money (I even bought two of them) and protects electronics, clothing and/or food very well in wet/wet conditions. This is great for protecting things (like your Kindle) when you go to the beach.
