Wow, I know the PS3 is an old console, but that's why I bought this controller. PS3 OEM controllers are hard to find new right now and I don't know how to buy used controllers. That being said, I own a few third-party PS3 controllers and this one is the best yet. I tried Black Ops 2 and Ultra Street Fighter 4. My guess is that if it can play competitive games it should do well in all other game genres. other controllers such as Xbox 1 or PS4. So it can play shooters as well as fighting game entries. I can't figure out why some other third party controllers have really bad joysticks on their controllers. I'm willing to pay more for useful (not just functional) joysticks. The buttons are great, I really like the design, the vibration works well and most importantly it doesn't use a USB dongle to connect. because the ps3 controller is at a stage where it is a legacy console, this is a great buy for now or a MUST have for the ps3 owners for the time being.
