Review on Hayden Automotive 2748 Premium Clutch by Tyler Bonnell

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Complicated application but works

This was on a 2002 Dodge Quad Cab Ram SLT with A/C and 4WD. My guess is that Dodge configured some of their trucks differently since it's a lightweight fan clutch and not the HD it asked for, which would be on all the time and spinning all the time. When I called them the manufacturer wasn't very helpful and I ended up having to replace a few fans before I got one that worked well enough. Revain was good at getting parts and swapping them out to me at no extra cost, but having to swap parts multiple times was very tedious and time consuming. I believe Hayden is trying to make one part for many different uses, so this unit will work, but most likely not as well as the OEM part. With fuel this expensive, every extra load on the engine will cost you a lot more over the long haul. This lightweight unit revs a lot, but luckily it doesn't affect the MPG too much and cools the engine well. Be careful if you are also buying a Bosch water pump as the pulley on the pump is very thin, not as heavy as the original pump and bends easily when trying to tighten the clutch fan. Preferably
