Review on BONECO Digital Humidifier S250 Cleaning by Kio Vazquez ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A practical product, nothing to complain about.

I have had all kinds of humidifiers and this is what I can say: This steam option is similar in performance to ultrasonic, but does not create plaque on furniture and puddles around it and does not emit ultrasound. Compared to natural humidification, it is more productive, it has much cheaper consumables, and mold cannot start there. The price for all these pluses: noise, room heating and correspondingly high power consumption (285 watts on high and 145 watts on low). In general, the thing is excellent, and the humidity in the room was able to raise in 3 days such that two expensive humidifiers with natural humidification, even at full speed, could not raise for a week. The main thing is to let it work for several days at full power so that the furniture absorbs moisture and then just set it up so that it keeps it at a low level, turning it on and off. And minus a point for a thread problem.

Pros
  • + Effectively works. + Although the hydrometer is lying, it is lying stably (it shows exactly 10% more for me) and therefore you can set it up so that when the desired humidity is reached, it turns itself off and waits for it to fall. + From above, the steam comes out hot, but not boiling water, it’s hard to get burned, but it’s nice to warm your hands. + On the grid there is a recess for oils. It heats up from the steam and the oil itself evaporates. + Few consumables: A451 anti-scale discs last one disc for a long time (2 discs are included, 6 discs are sold separately in a box for 900) and a decalcifier is included in the kit, but this is the most common citric acid. + No ultrasound and no plaque on furniture. + Automatic display dimmer, but it barely shines even at maximum brightness, so it's not clear why it is. + The case is well assembled and sealed, and the steam is hot and rises up so that, in principle, it cannot leave puddles around itself. + Large 3 liter tank, lasts 12 hours at high power and 24 hours at low power.
Cons
  • - Very noisy. At any power, the cooling fan makes noise, and the noise is high-frequency, although not loud. At high power, the sound of boiling or heating water is added to it. At low power, there is almost no sound from the water, but one way or another, sleeping next to it will not work. However, this is not a drawback of this model, but of the evaporation technology itself due to heating. - After a month and a half, I had a problem with the thread for the cap of the water tank. When twisting, the cap pops off the thread and water begins to flow out. It turns out to tightly tighten from the sixth time, while making no small effort, which is very annoying. - It is important to monitor the condition of the heating element. I use well-filtered water (15 ppm) and it still scales, so I'll have to clean it often. Fortunately, citric acid is everywhere.
