This is a fantastic well made chalkboard pen. Beautiful grain on wood and beautifully finished. However, the blackboard area is not designed for liquid chalk. For ordinary dry chalk pencils - yes. However, if you use liquid chalk, it's completely impossible to remove even with a damp sponge. I draw a design on each of them (I bought 2). I left a design for about 1 week then it was pretty clean with a damp sponge. Then I drew another drawing on it. Both remained intact for 2 months. And at that moment the chalk was washed off the surface, but a large amount of it was absorbed by the blackboard and became permanent. So just for your information. Because of this, I had to dock a star.
