The pirouette board is a great tool for teaching dancers to turn. A lot of people don't really like these boards, but let me tell you why this one is so good. First, design. The underside is smooth, which makes the board easy to turn on the dance floor. It has thick padding on the top of the board for maximum comfort and foothold. Second, this board is great for helping dancers find their center and learn to identify it easily. Once your body is misaligned, you will fall over. Start slowly with a turn or two to get a feel for how it works and check your alignment. Finally, this board is designed for beginners, intermediate and advanced! The main reason I hear bad things about boards like this is that they don't teach you how to enable relaying. This one does! Because of the padding on this board, it is comfortable to enter and stay in the relevé. This is for intermediate dancers once they get the hang of it on a flat surface without falling over. My daughter in the video is known for her twists and turns in her studio. She can grab them like no other. However, when she became relevé, she could only complete 3 spins without falling. Not because her leg hurt, but because her position was a little off. Something she never knew she was doing before using this board. All in all, if you are looking for a spinning board I would highly recommend the Zenmarkt Pirouette Board! And it comes in a lovely velvet carry/storage bag so you can practice your swings anywhere!
