My timekeeper is a round portable machine. My version shows the same time twice a day (no AM or PM) so you have to look outside to see which half of the day it is. To attach it to my forearm (below) I need a strap and buckle system. The vintage leather strap arrived yesterday. With all my watchmaking tools in hand, I quickly realized I wouldn't need them and laughed hysterically for a while. The normally inaccessible steel rod that holds the bracelet to the watch had tiny lugs at each end that allowed the timekeeper to compress the spring and thereby dislodge the post from its sockets on the watch frame. A few minutes later, the vintage belt and clasp were attached. I laughed and laughed as I paused briefly to go to the bar and order more frappuccinos. The first mount was completely intuitive and required no instructions. A row of holes runs down the center of the belt. The tape is passed through the steel hole. The swivel bar goes into the hole - pull on the strap and the bar will hold the strap pressed against the steel loop. (Remember to thread the strap through subsequent leather loops - this is a common mistake.) After some experimentation, I found the exact hole for the time machine to stay on my forearm.
