Review on BATIGE USB 3.0 & 3.5mm Car Mount Flush Cable - Waterproof 6ft Extension for Car, Boat & Motorcycle by Franz Esquivel

The USB port does not provide a good connection with all Lightning cables.

I'm confused about the problem with this USB connector as it gets rave reviews from everyone else. I connected this cable to a Pioneer DMH-1770NEX car radio receiver and routed the cable so that the USB/AUX port can be installed on the center console. Installation went great aside from running the cable, but I had issues with the USB port connecting well. Immediately after installation I plugged in my 64GB Sandisk compact flash drive which I use to store all the music I play on my home stereo. The USB stick fits perfectly into any other USB port, but is very tight in this USB port. The next day I took out my flash drive and plugged in a lightning cable to connect it to my iPhone and was only able to get an intermittent connection. I tried different cables but all had the same problem. I gave up for a few weeks thinking the problem might be with the connector on the back of the receiver or with the receiver itself. Just today I tried an old cheap lightning cable and am able to connect my iPhone. Then I switch it back to other Lightning cables (better quality) and nothing. I have no problem using these lightning cables on devices other than this one. However, only a cheap Lightning cable that fits very loosely in the USB port will work. More expensive/reliable Lightning cables that don't work will have a tighter fit. I'm not sure what the problem is at the moment. The USB connectors on all of these Lightning cables look pretty much the same, with slight size differences between some of them. But as I said, they work on all other devices except this one. The part that stinks is that it's a chore of taking everything apart to install a new flush mount connector with a new wire, a chore I don't have the time or inclination for right now. I think I should have tested the cable for a few days before routing the cables and installing the connector on the center console. but I've never had such problems with USB. Live and learn I guess.
