Disappointingly good for crockery
I'm a little disappointed with that. I usually love cast iron cookware - I find it works better for a lot of things. But this pan is not very good. I don't know if it's the grooved design on the bottom or my glass cooktop, but the thing heats up unevenly. Edges and corners are mostly cold. Turn the knob up and the pan will overheat very quickly for the food you are cooking. My last 12" flat-bottomed cast iron skillet distributed heat perfectly on my stovetop (it was over 30 years old). Maybe with this one if you have gas or want to use it with a grill or fire. Everything will be fine electric cooker - hands off.
