These pads have a significantly smaller footprint than the pads they replace. I held them side by side as I took the old ones off and it was so obvious how much less surface area was available for contact with the upholstery material for the new ones. I went ahead and put in new ones as my old ones needed replacing. But now I can feel the difference in how much less stopping power I have than before. I would not buy these pads again. At least they fit my car and the skid plate was the right size and shape. By the way, now I look at the photo of these pads and I remember what I saw. As I put the pads on the car I think the picture shows a lot more pad material than I remember actually having in the pads. isn't cool
