Review on 🪒 MÜHLE TRADITIONAL R41 Double Edge Safety Razor (Open Comb) – Premium Men's Razor for Daily Use, Superior Barbershop Quality Close & Smooth Shaving Experience by Jenny Thomas

Firstly, I'm new to wet shaving with a double razor. A few months ago I decided to give wet shaving a try and after doing some research I ordered a Muhle R89 and Viking (Mild) blades. It was truly a transformational experience. In 40 years of shaving with cartridge razors, I've found that I've never clean-shaven. As my confidence in shaving increased (stop beating myself), I decided if I could (and should) take a step forward with the Muhle R41. The shave I got with the R89 was great, but I've read a lot of reviews here on Revain and around the web about the R41. So I took the plunge. While I was at it, I also ordered Feather Blades. I was determined to go slow and careful, and my first shave was easily the best shave of my life. I should note that I prepped with a hot shower, Proraso Pre-Shave (highly recommend), and Taylor of Old Bond Street Grapefruit Shaving Cream (highly recommend), and applied with a Silvertip Boar brush. I dispute reports that the R41 is not for beginners, but it's important that you treat this razor with the respect it deserves. If not, it will bite you and you will bleed to death. Work slowly and do not put pressure on the shaving head. The first pass is great, the second pass is amazing and I never felt the need for a third pass. I still love the Muhle R89 and recommend it if you shave daily or need a quick shave. If you are looking for a BBS (Baby Butt Soft) razor I don't think the Muhle R41 with Feather Blades could be any better.
