Review on πŸ“„ Enhance Paper Handling Efficiency with Lexmark 550-Sheet Tray (40C2100) by Reginald Truitt

Looks like a pretty decent color laser printer for the office

First of all if you read Vine reviews, note that this is not a consumer/home printer. This is an office printer with the priority of an officer's printer. It's expensive compared to home printers, but it's also very fast. My existing HP C2025dn processes a full color photo in 32 seconds, this Lexmark CS720DE prints the same photo almost instantly with no noticeable lag. It's rated at 40 pages per minute, which I haven't tested, but it's much faster than a typical home laser printer. The color print quality is good, but not outstanding for a color laser. It's not really meant for photos, but for color charts and brochures. If you want lab-quality prints, buy an inkjet photo printer. I printed a few photos just to test the color accuracy and tonal range, which is about as good as my existing color laser printer. I used color lasers which were pathetic in photos. This gives reasonable results. It's big and very heavy. Dimensions: 18.5" wide x 18" deep x 16.5" high. Again, this is an office printer and durability and speed are more important than size and weight. This is a network printer designed for a wired connection If you need Wi-Fi, buy a third-party Wi-Fi bridge. They're cheap. It also prints from a USB drive via the USB port in the top right corner - no computer required. This printer is for Operation equipped with a color capacitive touchscreen on the front. This has much more than a typical home printer. You can access the status of consumables, view pending jobs and adjust various settings, including things like the IP address. Most of the things that would normally require access via a computer are somehow available via the front panel. This has a corresponding disadvantage - when you turn on the printer for the first time n, you have to go through a menu to set things like the time zone. something else. When you print something for the first time, o will ask you to confirm that the paper type in the tray is what you expect. This might seem like a lot of effort, but it's because the printer knows exactly what's in the main tray and manual feed tray. Tell it there is cardstock in the manual feed tray and it will print jobs on cards from that tray until you tell it otherwise. However, connecting to a computer is easy. My main desktop computer installed it without prompting me. On my laptop I had to go through "add new network printer" but as soon as I opened that dialog the printer was found immediately. The toner is slightly more expensive than HP's. Looking online I see that the price per page is around $0.13 versus $0.10 for my HP color laser, at least for official cartridges. My personal experience with third party "refurbished" toner cartridges is very poor, some of them made loud squeaks and released toner erratically so I avoid them. Paying 1/3 the price for something that doesn't work isn't a bargain.
