My wife wanted this phone for our house because she likes the classic vintage look. When I got the phone, I was surprised to find out just how high-tech this thing really is. There is a built in speaker so you can talk without a hat. You just press the middle button on the watch face. The spinning wheel looks just like the old school ones. The speaker is under the phone. So if you pick up the phone and look at the bottom panel, you'll see holes for the speaker. Easily connects to a landline phone, just like the phones your grandparents used to have. The sound quality is pretty good too. The material manufactured is plastic, although it is painted to look like metal. I think it's all plastic so don't expect real brass, copper or cast iron, stainless steel, brushed metal etc, none of that. The only thing that can be metal is the headphone holder (the middle part sticks out and holds the headphone). No real complaints.
